Location:University of Oklahoma Medical Center Outpatient Surgery
Shift Available: (40 hours/weekly) 10 hours daily
OU Health is Oklahoma's only Level I Trauma center providing care by a comprehensive variety of surgical specialties to include orthopedic, transplant, cardiovascular/thoracic, plastics, gynecology, oncology, etc. Nurses in our unit are the bridge between our patients and the perioperative team. As an outpatient surgerynurse you will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, circulators, and other members of the surgical team to provide a safe, pleasant, and successful care experience for our patients.
Experience with Perioperative pre and post experience and Pacu preferred

Under limited administrative direction, supervises nursing staff and provides expert nursing care to patients in one of OU Health's specialty areas.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
Experience: 1.5 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting which includes at least 6 months charge experience.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ACLS (American Heart Association) required within 6 months of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, procedures and standards plus the principles of supervision. Skill in planning and organizing nursing care, applying advanced nursing clinical skills, maintaining records and charts, preparing written reports and in maintaining effective working relationships with others.
