Job Summary

  • Works with minimal direction from a Medical Technologist; performs analysis of chemical, microscopic or immunologic nature
  • Occasionally serves as acting supervisor when assigned.
  • Reports to a Laboratory Manager or Supervisor.
  • Receives general supervision from Pathologists, Director, Lead Medical Technologist, Technical Supervisors, Shift Supervisors, and Medical Technologists.
  • Receives supervision in computer activities from the Specialist, Lab Information Systems.

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate degree and Medical Lab Tech (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification with American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent.
  • Must meet the minimum requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Act of 1988.

Experience

  • 2 years preferred

(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)

Licensure/Certification

  • Registered with ASCP (or eligible for registry) as a Medical Lab Tech or equivalent

Compensation/Benefits

  • $19.56-$43.71/hr depending on previous work experience.
