The Patient Safety Consultant initiates activities and initiatives related to mitigation, preparation, response and recovery, in the event of any operational or patient safety related incident or sentinel event. Additionally, serves as a resource for performance/quality improvement activities to the INTEGRIS Health facilities. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

* Bachelors degree: Nursing, Engineering, Quality Management, Business Management, or Healthcare related field is preferred OR Associates degree in above described areas plus an additional 2 years full time experience in healthcare operations.

* Current Oklahoma State Registration or license in nursing or other health related field.

* 5 years recent experience in healthcare setting required.

* 3 years of professional development, process improvement, consultation, or leadership experience preferred.

* Proficiency with Microsoft office including power point, excel, publisher and database software such as access.

* Excellent communication, oral presentation, and professional writing skills.

* Experience in patient safety, risk management, quality improvement, in a healthcare setting strongly preferred.

* Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
